Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club is set to host its first annual Rally for the Cure Golf Tournament to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s fight against breast cancer. The tournament will be held on October 2, 2008 and includes a continental breakfast, 18 holes of golf, lunch, and prizes. In addition to the tournament day, there is also a Cocktail reception and Chinese Auction on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. The Susan G. Komen Foundation began its fight to end breast cancer in 1982. Today , it is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.

Sandpiper Bay, located in Sunset Beach , NC, is just one of the many golf courses to support this great cause through A Rally for the Cure Golf Tournament. Both private and public golf courses across the United States successfully organize annual events with donations being made to help in the fight against breast cancer. While October may be breast cancer awareness month, the help and support from the individuals who coordinate, participate and support these tournaments is not just limited to October. Support is offered both on and off the course each and every day.
